This was a painting I did in 2005 for a class assignment. The predator characters are theoretically upper-class ladies and gentlemen in an upper-class club/bar setting, looking aggressive, drinking blood. The message is about how the upper-class preys on and takes advantage of the lower-class (here represented by the prey species icons in the beer taps). I don't usually down-talk my work, but I can see the technical flaws in this now, a year and a half later. That, and it actually photographed horribly. Board, 30" long

This one was definitely a challenge to do - with all the primary colors together, it makes it kind of hard to look at, but that seems to fit the character well. He's a white-colored boar-tiger hybrid with jade eyes, red and blue bright markings, a copper mane, and golden jewelry. Quite the mix!

A large piece I did for the 2006 Further Confusion art show - Ace the black jackal sitting on her motorcycle... The bridge is the Rainbow bridge in Tokyo, and the bike is based on a Honda racing bike - I can't remember the exact model - but I made some variations to it. Done in Markers, colored pencils and acrylic paints.

Mandala Intro Graphic by Swandog

I've seen many fine artists' galleries that have intro graphics on their main pages, and I like the look and idea of them, so I finally made one for my own site. This "mandala", for lack of a better term, symbolizes much of what I am and what I love. I've always been obsessed with Celtic knotwork, Art Nouveau (Alphonse Mucha's works in particular), Medieval heraldry and carousel art, and so I've tried to combine all these styles into one. My fursona and otherkin/totem creature is of course Swandog (swan/saluki gryphon), with a hidden unicorn side that few previously knew about (thus the horn in the center). I'm also a nocturnal person and love pastels, ivy, waterlilies, pearls, seashells, luna moths, stars, the moon, ribbons, tassels, spirals, feathers and wings. And being a Christian, I've included a Chi Rho symbol as well. The ivy border and wings were borrowed from my favorite of Mucha's images, and the knotwork was inspired by the awesome artist of Castpaper.com. :)
